The Bat Bros swing one of the most power-hitter skewed bats of 2020 - the Hawk2 from Warstic - the same company that makes the Bonesaber (one of our favorite BBCORs of the year). The Hawk2 comes in 4 different colors:
-Red Tail (original - red/blue)
-Fire Tail (orange)
-Smoke (black)
-Mossy Oak (camo)
Warstic Hawk2 BBCOR - 9.5 Overall:
-Significant endload - 1.5/5
-Full one-piece alloy/aluminum
-Moderate sweet spot - 3/5
-Great towards the outer part of the barrel - but not as great towards the hands.
-Variable barrel sound - mostly a jagged/cracky ping.
-Very very stiff and a very strong barrel that doesn't get bullied by the ball.
-Quite a bit of sting in the hands (not that that should matter much)
-Bigtime pop - if you square it up, this bat hits the ball as far as anything out there - 5/5
-Pretty thin grip
-$300 to $310 - spendy for a 1-piece
BAT BRO SCALE DETAILS:
Bottom line: due to BBCOR restrictions, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT BAT. Between power, sweet spot, and swing weight, every bat is going to have to compromise in at least 1 area.
Scoring scale:
8 or lower: not a fan.
9: average, middle of the pack.
10: solid bat, above average - Bat Bro approved.
11: one of the best bats in its category and one of the best overall bats of the year
12 or higher:
-Red Tail (original - red/blue)
-Fire Tail (orange)
-Smoke (black)
-Mossy Oak (camo)
