The Baseball Bat Bros bring you BAT MADNESS - a bracket-style tournament featuring each bat from a certain baseball bat category. This time, we're putting 2020 1-piece alloy BBCOR bats to the test!

THE NEW BAT BRO SCALE:
15 to 16: "Single-A" - not a huge fan
17 to 18: "Double-A" - decent bat, pretty average performance
19 to 20: "Triple-A" - pretty good bat, but we think there are some better options out there
21 to 22: "Big League" - great bat. bat bro approved
23 to 24: "Cooperstown" - GOAT territory
Bottom line: due to BBCOR restrictions, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT BAT. Between power, sweet spot, and swing weight, every bat is going to have to compromise in at least one category.
We've gotten some feedback on the Bat Bro Scale about the scale assuming that a lighter swinging bat is objectively better.
We would say that lighter is indeed objectively better. Who doesn't want more bat speed? The only reason people “prefer” endload is because POWER comes with endload. Power bats will take a hit on the scale for being heavier to swing, but lighter contact-hitter bats will take a hit for not having much juice behind them.
