The Chicago Red Stars will face the North Carolina Courage in the NWSL Championship in Cary, NC after Matilda’s striker Sam Kerr's goal against the Portland Thorns gave Chicago 1-0 victory in Bridgeview. The 2019 Golden Boot winner scored after just eight minutes with an assist from Japan’s Yuki Nagasato.
