The strange F1 rule conflict that saved Fernando Alonso’s podium

Fernando Alonso had a controversial penalty applied in Jeddah after the race - in fact, right after he’d been on the F1 podium at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
It meant he had his trophy literally taken from his hands moments after the podium ceremony, and it was given to George Russell over in the TV interview area instead.
But a few hours later, it was Alonso’s once again, in a confusing situation that was F1’s first real penalty controversy of 2023.
